Stony Brook University efforts in information assurance education are concentrated in the Computer Science department, with supporting courses from Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Management and Economics. Information assurance concepts are integrated into most of the CS undergraduate and graduate programs. These programs take a comprehensive approach to IA education that leverages the strengths of the department in software assurance and formal methods, networks, computer security, and databases. Specializations in information assurance are offered at the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. levels. Many courses in CS offer opportunities for research projects in areas related to information assurance. In addition, several research projects at the M.S. and Ph.D. level are also available. The Center for Cybersecurity serves as the focal point of these research as well as educational activities. |
